Gini Ball graduated from the Royal College of Music and, formed the wild and wonderful punk classical group
Humoresque with Anne Stephenson. This led to touring and recording with both Siouxsie and the Banshees
and Marc Almond as well as touring with Soft Cell on backing vocals.
Gini spent the next six years working with Dave Ball and Psychic TV. She co-wrote music for the play Suddenly Last Summer with Dave and music for the film The Wanderer with Genesis P. Orridge. She continued working with Marc Almond, including on the number one single Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart with Gene Pitney. Having worked with producer Mike Hedges from the beginning, Mike asked Gini to get together the best possible string section to work on forthcoming projects with Bernard Butler and The Manic Street Preachers. Joined by Anne Stephenson and Sally Herbert, Brilliant Strings were the result.
